Dorm Set Up Information

Dorm Specifics

Walls
The walls in the dorm (except Sailor) are cement block so in order to hang things you must use special 3-pronged hooks. These may be purchased at a hardware store. The walls in Sailor are drywall with metal studs as well as cement blocks.
 
Bathrooms
Students residing in Oakwood-Slater Hall and Shupe (101-111) utilize community bathroom space.  All other Shupe and Sailor Hall residents reside in suite-style rooms with a shared bathroom between rooms.

*Beds in Oakwood-Slater are Twin XL. Beds in all other residences are Twin. Lofts are not allowed to be built in any residence.
Flooring
Rooms in Shupe, Oakwood and Sailor Hall are not carpeted. You may bring your own carpeting if you would like; however, it must be removed during the summer. If you bring your own carpet, you also need to bring a vacuum.

  • Oakwood Hall
    • (2-person room) – 14-feet, 2-inches x 10-feet, 11-inches
    • (3-person room) – 19-feet, 6-inches x 10-feet, 11-inches
    • (3-man rooms have numbers ending in 01, 02, 15 and 16)
  • Sailor Hall
    • (2-person room) – 11-feet, 6-inches x 20-feet, 4-inches
Bicycles
You may have bicycles on campus; storage must be arranged with your Resident Director (RD).
