David McCabe, Ph.D., was named Bethel's first endowed professor (where an external entity perpetually supports a faculty member) this fall. As the Missionary Church Endowed Professor of Biblical Theology, McCabe will spend 75 percent of his time teaching, and 25 percent of his time in service to the Missionary Church. He also recently co-led Bethel’s largest-ever international trip to Israel, with 48 faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Bethel who learned about Scripture in the places it happened.

Prior to coming to Bethel, McCabe served as a John Wesley Fellow of post-graduate study with the Foundation for Theological Education and held faculty posts in Lithuania and Scotland, as well as serving in pastoral assignments in Kentucky and Texas. His Ph.D. in New Testament Language, Literature and Theology is from New College, University of Edinburgh (Scotland). His M.A. in Biblical Studies is from Asbury Theological Seminary and he has a B.S. in Christian Ministries from Southwestern A/G University.
