Theatre Arts

Bethel University offers theatre performances that showcase the talents of Theatre Arts students. These theatre productions provide a practical, professional approach to the preparation and presentation of a theatrical production.

From classics like “Anne of Greene Gables” and “The Wizard of Oz” to student-written productions such as “Like Watchmen” and "God of My Own World," Bethel’s theatre degree program gives students opportunities to take part in every aspect of production.

You will be set-up for further success with real-world advice and teaching from our faculty members who have vast experience as lighting designers, production stage managers, company managers, and more. Our faculty members have gained experience in places including, but not limited to, California, New York, and New Orleans.

Through this immersive college theatre program, you will gain experience in:

  • Sound Design
  • Light Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Set Design and Construction
  • Costume Design and Construction
  • Prop Design and Construction
  • Makeup/Hair Design
  • On-stage Performance
  • Stage Managing
  • Directing
  • Playwriting

You can apply your new skills in connection to the productions held on the main stage in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium or in the smaller Paqui and Brian Kelly Auditorium.

Every year, the Theatre Department offers the opportunity to attend the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. The week-long trip (which is an extended experience compared to other university programs) has been funded by donors John and Therese Gardener since 2013. Learn more about recent trips.

Theatre tickets are available through our online ticket office or on campus at the Bethel University box office in Indiana. See below for details.
