The Bethel University Board of Trustees is the highest governing body of the college. Membership of the board is selected by the committee on trustees, where their primary responsibility is to evaluate current members and recruit new members. All members serve a four-year term; only two terms can be served consecutively. The board of trustees traditionally meets three times during the academic year.
The work of the board is organized into several committees:
- Academic Services Committee
- Development and College Relations Committee
- Executive Committee
- Financial Services Committee
- Student Development Committee
- Committee on Trustees
