Sidney Sprunger ‘20, a theatre arts and general music double major, is committed to impacting lives through theatre.
On Bethel’s campus, Sprunger has served as a Bethical News Co-Anchor and a member of the concert choir, Voices of Triumph, Genesians, The Company, the Intentional Living Community and Bethel University Conference Service Team. In Summer 2018, she traveled to Greece with Voices of Triumph, where they participated in the Festival of the Aegean. During her college career, she has also held positions as an intern at the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival and as Production Stage Manager at The 574 Theatre Company in South Bend, Ind.
Since attending Bethel, Sprunger’s passion for theatre has grown under the guidance of her professors. “Professors and faculty members care about you as a human and wish to see you succeed in the future. This is evident,” says Sprunger, who was introduced to stage management through Don Hunter, MFA, assistant professor of Theatre.
Sprunger says that Hunter “showcased what it means to be someone who works in theatre while pursuing Christ … In the midst of his busy-ness, he always is willing to lend a listening ear.”
Sprunger now plans on making stage management her career. In the fall, she will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a full-ride scholarship to earn her MFA in Stage Management.
