The Bethel College kindergarten lab (LabK), a partnership between the college and School City of Mishawaka (SCM), is accepting registrations for the 2017-18 school year. This is a tuition-free public school program and is open to kindergarteners from any Indiana school district.

One way that kindergarten students benefit from LabK is the Bethel Buddy program, which pairs a Bethel teacher candidate with each kindergarten student. Throughout the year, the Bethel Buddies provide individualized attention and one-on-one learning opportunities for the LabK students.

Other benefits include a smaller class size and the unique opportunity to interact with the faculty, staff and students on a college campus. This year, some of the LabK special activities included attending a Bethel men’s basketball game, joining Bethel’s students for their annual “Christmas sing-along” chapel, and having specialized classes, such as an outdoor gymnastics lesson, provided by Bethel’s education candidates.

To register, contact SCM’s administration center at 574.254.4500. For more information, visit MishawakaSchools.com/Page/565 or watch the LabK promotional video at tinyurl.com/BCLabK.
