Join the Bethel University Theatre Department for their production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Performances will be held on March 26, 27*, and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 28 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center on Bethel’s campus.
“The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg, background music by Herbert Stothart, dance and vocal arrangements by Peter Howard and orchestration by Larry Wilcox, is a beloved tale based on the MGM classic in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home.
This show has been entertaining audiences for generations. It includes the songs “Over The Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had A Brain/A Heart/The Nerve,” “We’re Off To See The Wizard (Follow The Yellow Brick Road),” “The Jitterbug,” “The Merry Old Land of Oz,” and “If I Were King Of The Forest.”
