Zippia, a career resource for new graduates, evaluated which colleges in Indiana offer the best opportunities for economics majors. Out of 162 schools, Bethel ranked number seven on the list, which also included Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame and Indiana University.
Schools were evaluated in three categories—career results, economics emphasis and school performance. The rankings are based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard.
Bethel’s economics and finance major prepares students for careers in financial services, banking, industry and government. Graduates have gone on to work at public policy organizations, banks and financial firms, and have pursued advanced degrees in areas such as law and economics. Student internships have included the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation), the Department of State, the Acton Institute and the Charles Koch Institute.
In addition to their time in the classroom, economics majors have the opportunity to participate in Bethel’s business club and benefit from a variety of local leaders and national experts who regularly serve as guest speakers for the business department.
