The Bethel College Weaver Gallery presents faculty exhibitions by Kari Stieglitz Black and Chad Eric Jay. Black is featuring a series of artworks, including painting, drawing and ceramics, entitled, “Through My Eyes, By My Hands.” Jay is featuring a series of digital print that can be viewed with 3D glasses. The gallery will feature the exhibits now through Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Tours available by appointment, call 574.807.7022.
Kari Stieglitz Black is an adjunct professor of ceramics teaching hand-building, sculpture and wheel throwing. In addition to teaching at Bethel, Black has been an instructor at the South Bend Museum of Art since 2005.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Art History.
Black is serving her second term as President of The Northern Indiana Artists. She also serves on the board of directors for the South Bend Museum of Art, as well as the board for the Friends of the Snite Museum, University of Notre Dame, where she is serving as treasurer. She is a Signature Member of the Hoosier Salon. She also holds memberships in The Indiana Artists, The Northern Indiana Artists, and The Northern Indiana Pastel Society.
Chad Eric Jay is an adjunct professor teaching foundation level fine art, digital and print media graphic design. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kendall College of Art and Design (1995) and his Master of Fine Arts in drawing and painting from University of Cincinnati (1997). Jay’s experience is comprised of all levels of drawing, painting, photography, graphic design, digital imaging, page layout, prepress, and interactive web design classes.
In addition to being an exhibiting fine artist, Jay has worked as a Gallery Director, Museum Preparator, Museum Education Coordinator, Art Director, Conceptual Designer, and Freelance Graphic Designer.
