Bethel College Partners with Area Churches for Fifth Annual Refuel Conference

Eight local churches and Bethel College are partnering together to offer, “ReFuel,” a one-day conference for church worship teams and leaders. The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium on Bethel’s campus.

The conference, now in its fifth year, is a joint effort coordinated by staff from Nappanee Missionary Church, Elkhart Calvary, First Baptist Church of Elkhart, Grace Community Church, Harvest Bible Chapel, St. Mark Missionary Church, New Life and Trinity Church.

David Cummings, conference director and worship ministries pastor at Nappanee Missionary Church, says the goal of the event is to energize and refresh worship leaders who spend so much time ministering to others.

Paul Baloche

Paul Baloche has written hundreds of worship songs that are sung by thousands of churches each week. A three-time Dove Award winning songwriter, Paul travels the globe teaching and leading others in worship. Through, he developed a series of Master Classes designed to equip and train leaders and worship teams world-wide. He has served as the Worship Pastor at Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas for over 25 years. Paul is an ordained minister and received an MDiv from the Methodist Episcopal Church. He currently resides in New York City with his wife Rita. They have three grown children.

Kathryn Scott

Kathryn Scott is an internationally recognized songwriter and worship leader, having penned songs such as ‘Hungry’, ‘At the Foot of the Cross’, ‘We still Believe’ and many more the Church across the world sings in gathered times of worship. She has spent the last 19 years living in Northern Ireland, serving as the lead pastor of Causeway Coast Vineyard alongside her husband Alan. Together they have two teenage daughters, Sophie and Emily. And as of June 2017, have begun a brand new adventure, following the call of Jesus to move to Orange County, California. As a family, they are very excited to see what He leads them into next.

Martin Smith

Martin Smith is a singer and songwriter of rare ability and passion. His mixture of skill and integrity has wowed audiences inside and outside the walls of the Church since the early 1990s. Back then, Martin spent his time writing and singing songs about the realities of life and faith which travelled the world, some of which became some of the modern Church’s most popular calls to arms (Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble, I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever, Thank You For Saving Me).

Matt McCoy

Matt McCoy is a worship leader and songwriter from Chicago, IL. He is the founder of and an Ableton Certified Trainer. He loves to teach churches and worship leaders about using tracks in live performance. He has been using tracks in worship for over 15 years and invented the LOOPTIMUS Foot Controller, PRIME Playback App and TRACK RIG audio interface.

Jon Collado

Jon Collado serves as a Worship Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago. Jon along with his wife Monique and their 3 kids joined Harvest in Oct. '16 after moving from Brooklyn, NY. Jon has led worship for over 20 years and in that time has coached, mentored and helped many singers, worship teams and choirs cultivate a heart for worship. Jon is passionate about the local church and has a heart to help worship leaders realize their potential and to help them lead with passion and freedom.

Sheri Gould

Sheri Gould is a graduate of the University of Illinois. She has taught voice privately for nearly 40 years. She has been a worship leader and music director in various local churches since 1986. She was the director of Good News Productions, an evangelistic outreach involving singing, drama, dance and original musicals for 13 years. She writes for Worship Musician! Magazine and tours the world with her husband teaching and equipping the Body of Christ for music ministry at such conferences as, National Worship Leader, Christian Musician Summit, Seminars4Worship, Camp Electric, Experience Conference, Worship Institute, WorshipLife, WorshipGod and many more. A home-schooling mom since 1985, she her husband Doug reside in New Jersey where she just finished home-schooling the last of their eight children.

Doug Gould

Doug has been a veteran of the Pro Audio and Music Technology Industry for nearly 30 years, serving in management roles at Shure, Tascam and E-Mu Systems and also serves as a worship leader, musician and tech at various churches throughout his esteemed career. Over the last twelve years Doug has been a very effective presenter at hundreds of worship conferences all over North America and beyond, focusing his experience to consult and teach others.

Filipe Mora

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Filipe majored in Electronic Production & Design and served as a Guitar Principle. The multifaceted artist is the founder and CEO of Dream Foot Experience, a revolutionary music app company. He also serves as the Music Director for Christ Church New Jersey. Aside from leading teams and his production company, Filipe is also an experienced guitar player and music producer who has been able to perform live with well-known artists including Ricardo Sanchez, Anthony Evans, Lucia Parker, William McDowell, David and Nicole Binion, En Espiritu y En Verdad, Danilo Montero and more.
