HCM Records, the Bethel College record label, announces the release of a new student album, “Heartcry.” A release party, including live performances of songs from the album, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sufficient Grounds coffeehouse on Bethel’s campus.

“Heartcry” includes a mix of cover and original songs written and performed by Maryann Brandt, Hannah Campbell, Kayla Dietz, Marc England II, Zechariah Good, Aaron Neumayer, Luis Osorio, Alyssa Stair and Stephen White, all students in Bethel’s Worship Arts program. It was produced by Billy Smiley, a five-time Grammy-nominated and 26-time Dove-nominated artist, producer and songwriter based out of Nashville, Tenn. Smiley is an alumnus of Bethel and serves on the Board of Trustees.

The album was recorded in Bethel’s on-campus recording studio as well as OmniSound Studios and Dark Horse Recording Studios in Nashville by Bill Whittington, award-winning engineer who has worked with Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans, and many others.

This is the third album release for HCM Records and the Bethel College Worship Arts program, which now features a state-of-the-art on-campus recording studio. The studio and record label are designed to support recording projects that will prepare students for professional leadership in church worship, Christian music and the creative arts.

“Heartcry” CDs are available for purchase in the Bethel College Campus Store, or online through Spotify, iTunes, or at https://youtu.be/DyBwQuBWgmo.
