Graphic Design Major
Bachelor of Arts (BA) Program – 4 years
In pursuing a graphic design major, you’ll take part in a variety of courses:
- Visual inquiry
- Type, image and graphic design histories
- Research and process development
- Professional practices
- Branding and identity
- Interaction of social innovation, information and data visualization,
- Self-directed inquiry
The first two years of the program stress traditional hand methods while computer-aided design is introduced. The latter two years emphasize computer techniques but are grounded in theoretical design basics. Students learn to communicate effectively, both visually and verbally, within a range of hand techniques and software programs.
